ASTON HEARING COMMUNITY EVENTS

OUR NEXT AND UPCOMING ADDITIONAL EVENTS WILL BE SHOWN SOON.

What’s on?

Cooking with a hearing loss can be quite a challenge! There are many different sounds that alert you to how well a dish is cooking and which keep you safe whilst preparing a meal. Think of the sizzle of onions in a pan, the gentle bubble of a simmering sauce or the rolling boil of water for pasta. Add to that the ‘ping’ of a timer saying the cooking time is up and you may start to realise how important your hearing is and some of the pitfalls if you don’t hear well.

We have many tips and ways to help you cope and stay safe in the kitchen and would love to share these with you in a morning of baking at the new church hall in Speen. We will guide you through baking a healthy sourdough bread, patiently made in a time honoured way, with its characteristic crust and tangy flavour,  followed by a relaxing  lunch together.

To RSVP by March 30th please reply to this email with “YES”
To celebrate the Christmas Season we invite you to share an afternoon of baking with us at the new Church Hall in Speen.
Instead of the usual mince pies however, we are going Italian and will be baking various flavours of biscotti. You will have the chance to meet others from our coffee mornings in Amersham and Thame and hopefully make some contacts for the new year. All ingredients will be provided and we will be on hand to guide you through the recipe. It will be very relaxed and hopefully a lot of fun as no two biscotti ever turn out the same!

When?

Friday 13th April  2018
10 am – 2:30 pm

We are delighted to introduce our HearToday events. We have long recognised the importance of getting out and about into the community. People can tend to avoid talking about their ears and hearing until things become very difficult to cope at which point they and their families may have been suffering in silence for many years.
