Lynn Andrews, Receptionist

Lynn Andrews works on the front desk in reception at our Amersham practice. Lynn started exactly one year ago and is the first person to meet and greet you with a smile as you arrive for your appointment. She helps make the reception area very relaxed and friendly and will always offer you a tea or coffee while you wait.

After an early career with a Japanese CD company in a PR role, sales promotion and HR roles followed. Then Lynn decided to retrain for a different career and before working at Aston Hearing ran her own business, “Total Foot Care”. This was a successful chiropody/podiatry practice in High Wycombe, which she owned for 15 years. Whilst she loved the work and the interaction with her clientele, the opportunity to sell the practice came at the right time when she and her husband were moving towards semi-retirement. She enjoyed spending more time with her mother and planning what the future might hold.  A year later when the part-time vacancy at Aston Hearing came available Lynn decided it was just the role she was hoping for.

Born and bred in Hughenden Valley, High Wycombe, Lynn has many connections with the local area and is involved in many activities outside of her work at Aston Hearing. Her main passion is singing and she belongs to a great local choir called “Next Stage Choir’ spanning the Marlow, Aylesbury and St. Albans area. She recently spent a whole day at Angel Recording Studios in London making a Christmas album with the choir which was an incredible experience and she says that sorts most of her Christmas presents for this year!

Lynn also enjoys many active pursuits to include Nordic walking, yoga, Pilates and more recently Ceroc dancing classes.

In what spare time she has left, Lynn also runs the Ubiquitous Theatre Company with her husband, Nick and they put on quality amateur productions in unusual local venues at least once a year. This role occasionally takes her abroad to help at a school in Zambia where Nick teaches periodically. This year Lynn is helping the school choir mount a concert in their local village – quite a challenge in just 10 days!

We asked Lynn where in the world she would most like to be and her favourite place in the UK is Putsborough Beach, North Devon where she has happy memories of many glorious summer holidays both growing up and also with her own children. She now adds Sydney, Australia to the list of favourite places as her son now lives there and it is a great place to visit.
