As the sun shone down on the Chilterns we joined forces with Musical Mayhem to host a picnic and cream tea with singalong fun to be enjoyed by everyone. The marquee was filled with voices, young and old and the gentle rattle of teacups.
Our ‘Big Fat Quiz’, an evening of challenges that took us back to the ‘80s and 90’s when our family business first started. Added to the excitement the event was led by TV antique expert Paul Hayes from The Swan at Tetsworth and included a valuation round and mini auction. This combined with event ticket sales and a great raffle raised over £2000 for our associated charity Hearing Link at hearing Dogs for Deaf people.
With food and wine served to each table by a fantastic team of young helpers, guests were able to stay at their tables and enjoy the relaxed fun of the quiz. Our intention was to encourage the flow of conversation and we were delighted how the acoustics of the marquee, good lighting and table arrangement worked to enable this. Everyone was engaged in lively conversation with no-one left out.
This sums up what our HearToday events are about – to show that social occasions can still be fun and enjoyed by all even when you have hearing challenges to face.
All our events focus on how to help people hear the best they can, through technology, guidance on accessories, hearing awareness and tips for making life a little easier for all concerned.
