Restaurant design over the past decade had been great at creating terrible acoustics that ramp up noise levels to uncommunicative levels. What is the point of spending £100+ on a meal with friends when you can barely hold a conversation?

Happy Hearing Review

As part of our Happy Hearing campaign – we would like to start a restaurant review with a difference – which establishments locally score well or badly on the acoustics front?

We welcome your comments – tell us about your experiences – are acoustics a consideration when you choose a restaurant?

If we start to challenge this and demand better perhaps we can all benefit from better dining experiences.

Happy Hearing Dining Review

Big ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for The Spread Eagle in Thame – https://www.spreadeaglethame.co.uk/

We called and booked a table of 10 and explained we needed a quiet area so we could chat and they gave us a fantastic table in beautifully furnished room which had carpet and curtains that made the space really acoustically friendly.

The other areas of the restaurant are also good for conversation with round tables, plush furnishings and no background music.
